Assignment #2 was a great learning experience! Before this assignment I did not know how to change the aperture or the shutter speed, or even what changing them does to the images. Now I feel like a have a greater grasp over the concepts and the idea of using the camera on manual. I really enjoyed the challenge presented by this project, and cannot wait to fine tune my ability to use the camera on 'M'.

Assignment #1 has been an great learning experience for me. I truly am a beginning photographer, and I felt that the scavenger hunt was an excellent way to ease me into using the tools for photography. Through this assignment I learned that I need to pay more attention to what I want to focus on/capture most in the pictures that I am taking. I also learned that the 'P' mode on the camera does not always pick the right settings, as many of my images from this assignment turned out too dark. For the next project I will spend more time focusing the camera and picking the camera settings for each photograph.

Goals for VAPHO 116

It was February in 2010, and it was time to register for classes for my Senior year of High School. I had my schedule all figure out, and I had room to take an elective. I decided to try out Black and White film photography; needless to say, I fell in love with it. Today I am here because I want to continue what I started in High School, and to become better at something I am passionate about. Someday I hope to be able to use the skills I learn in this class to possibly make money, to photograph my family, and to simply capture beautiful moments in a professional way.
